Central Plumas Recreation and Park District
Central Plumas Recreation and Park District is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-focused professional to serve as its next General Manager. The General Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of District operations, recreation programs, parks and facilities, personnel, budgeting, community partnerships, and implementation of the policies and priorities established by the Board of Directors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about parks and recreation, public service, and strengthening the quality of life for residents of Central Plumas County.
Salary
$7,442 – $9,046 per month
$89,304 – $108,552 annually
Salary placement within the range will be based on qualifications and experience.

- Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage with an 80% District / 20% employee cost split
- Retirement: District contribution equal to 8% of salary toward a 457(b) retirement plan or eligible personal retirement option
- Sick Leave: 12 days per year with no limit on accrual
- Vacation Leave: Beginning accrual of 10 days per year, increasing with service to a maximum of 30 days per year
- Administrative Leave: 40 hours annually
- Paid Holidays: 13 paid holidays per year
- Bereavement Leave: 5 days
About the Position
The General Manager serves as the chief administrative officer of the Central Plumas Recreation and Park District and works directly with the District's Board of Directors. The position provides overall leadership for District staff, programs, facilities, finances, and community partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and direction for District operations and staff
- Developing and administering the District's annual budget
- Overseeing recreation programs, parks, facilities, and community services
- Implementing policies and direction established by the Board of Directors
- Managing personnel and supporting a positive and professional workplace
- Developing partnerships with community organizations, schools, public agencies, and local stakeholders
- Overseeing contracts, agreements, grants, and District projects
- Planning for the long-term maintenance and improvement of District facilities and programs
- Representing the District professionally within the community
- Ensuring responsible stewardship of public resources
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an effective and approachable leader with strong organizational, financial, personnel, and communication skills. The District is seeking an individual who can balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning while maintaining positive relationships with employees, the Board of Directors, community partners, and the public.
Experience in parks and recreation, local government, public administration, nonprofit management, community services, or a related leadership field is highly desirable.
